Artist Info: Jenny Speckels has been a practicing artist in the Bay Area for over 25 years. Jenny is a fine artist, designer, and illustrator, whose clients include Houghton-Mifflin, the California Academy of Sciences, the San Francisco Department of Public Works, and Sunset Publishing Corporation. Jenny has a unique versatility of style and works in a wide range of media. She enjoys working with a variety of subject matter as well, but particularly is interested in expressing themes with natural, social, metaphysical, or spiritual content. In 2003 Jenny began to study sacred geometry and sacred space. Jenny designed and built a small garden space in the herb section of Santa Rosaís Harvest for the Hungry Garden. Jenny found this experience deeply enriching and is seeking more opportunities to design spaces such as these. Jenny is currently painting in oil with painting knives on board and canvas. Inspired by and continuing in the tradition of the Impressionists, she is implementing this medium to study light and its effects upon color.
